community meetup:“Playing for Keeps”
We had an incredible time at the very first community meetup!
“Playing for Keeps: The Things We Hold On to.”
For us, this moment represents belief. It represents every conversation about creating spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, express themselves creatively, and feel seen within their community. War Paint Collective™ was created to support Military Families* and the local community through creative wellness programming, and honestly… there was something special about our very first meetup being centered around memories, storytelling, and connection.
During “Playing for Keeps,” families, neighbors, military families, and community members came together to scrapbook, journal, laugh, play games, share stories, and spend meaningful time together. People brought photos, keepsakes, unfinished projects, and pieces of their lives to the table — and in return, helped create something bigger than an event.
They helped create community.
What started as conversations around tables and notebooks is slowly becoming a living thing, and this is only the beginning for the “Playing for Keeps” series. As War Paint Collective™ continues to grow, community support helps us provide creative supplies, develop future programming, create welcoming community spaces, and continue offering experiences centered around healing, creativity, and connection through the arts.
If you believe in what we’re building, we invite you to support the mission through donations, partnerships, sharing our work, or simply helping us spread the word.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged us, donated, offered advice, or taken the time to just listen.
We’re excited for what’s ahead.
